MTB Night Ride - Lake Chabot, 2

  • This location is shown only to members

Join us on this Team Velo Girls MOUNTAIN BIKE ride … at NIGHT!

The fast, fun fire-road trails of Lake Chabot are perfect for a post-work ride.  Trails are mostly wide open and technically easy, making Lake Chabot the perfect spot for a night ride.  There is a good amount of climbing, however, with a rewarding scenic view of the southeast bay area city lights.

We have two loop options, depending on the group -- either the full 12 mile bike loop, which takes about 1.5 hours, or we could cut it short at the 8 mile loop, which is about one hour.

Come out with us to experience this popular park in the dark -- it's a whole new spin on mountain biking!  You will need lights and layered clothing as it gets very dark in some areas, and may become a bit cold as well.  We recommend a two light system: one headlamp and one bar light, although one good light should be fine.

Trails in the East Bay Regional Park District are open until 10 pm year-round.  The parking lot entrance at the marina is open until 6 pm.

Hope to see you there!

Lots of fun riding at night. Going the shorter route instead of all the way around the lake meant a nice fast, fun, new to me downhill trail too.

There is a Starbucks in the Castro Valley Village easy to get to if Lorri wants to meet up for jersey sizing. 20663 Rustic Drive, Castro Valley, CA . I am good with my sizes .. not sure if I'll be able to meet up after the ride though.

If I'm the only one that needs to try on, Lorri doesn't need to come over just for me. I have another Pactimo jersey I know the size on and / or I might be able to make it to SB tomorrow.

Thanks, Abbie! Come visit me @ SB tomorrow and you can try on everything. Much better than trying to bring everything into a Starbucks or do it in the parking lot.

Too bad this is for women only. I love to ride Lake Chabot.

Hey Erick! Most of our rides are for women only, but the team is always up for suggestions for different rides. I'll chat with Cristina about adding a co-ed Chabot night ride in the future.

I'm out. Boo! This stupid hamstring injury is keeping me off the bike.

Hey Cristina! I was going to RSVP for this but it's the same night at the Passion Trail Bikes Christmas Lights Ride + Party (which is super-fun). Any chance we could move this to another night?
