Dirty Velo Girls China Camp

The north bay's China Camp Park is known for its fun, flowing trails with beautiful trees and scenic vistas.

Come explore this fabulous park on our beginner-friendly ride.  The 2 hour loop we plan to ride is about 9.5 miles with only 900 feet of climbing.  The trails are not super technical - but tons of fun - and a great place for beginners to practice their mountain biking skills.

Then, if anyone wants to get in some extra mileage, join us for lunch and a second loop at a faster pace.  Total mileage for both loops is around 20 miles.

You will need a mountain bike in good working condition, helmet and water.  We also recommend bringing snacks and a camera - the views are great here!  If you plan to stay for the extra mileage - bring lunch and extra water.

We will meet at the entrance to the Shoreline Trail off of back ranch meadows road,  wait at the pay station,   There are bathrooms and a large parking lot. At the end of back ranch meadows road if you want to park there and ride to meet us orYou can park out on San Pedro road.   China Camp does have a 3$ Trail use fee to ride and a 5$ fee to park.(exact change only)  you can pay by cash or credit card at the entrance to the parking area /trail or when you enter to park. You must pay the fee to ride with this group

Rain cancels the ride - check back here for cancellation information.

Sorry I missed this. I did not receive notice there was a spot open until 9:30 am the morning of the ride and was already out on my bike. I'll have to catch this group next time.

    Hi Freja,

Quick question - is the entrance to the Shoreline trail where the physical address is listed? I see it says of Ranch Meadows Road. If we follow directions to the San Pedro address, are there signs for access to Shoreline ?

Freja, I should have looked at the map sooner, but i don't see Ranch Meadow Rd (or campground) on google maps...It's confusing...how far down San Pedro do we go? Can I call you in the morning? what time will you be leaving? my cell is[masked]-4941. Thanks!

I just updated the map so it should get you there. Otherwise, enter the China camp campground as your location. The campground is at the end of back ranch meadows road. We are going to meet where back ranch meadows road and n San Pedro roads intersect

I have a hybrid and i have taken it on trails that are not too gnarly -- do you think it would be ok for this?

    1 · May 21, 2014

    • Freja E.

It should be ok, there is nothing too technical
The first climb (and only real climb) is about 600 ft but not really steep. If you think you can handle that then you should be ok
