Team Velo Girls Cinderella Progressive Training Ride #2

Join Team Velo Girls on this women's-only progressive series of rides designed to prepare you for the Cinderella Classic on April 6th. This week we'll ride tackle the Three Bears -- 21 miles with 1,500' of climbing. Yeah, there's some climbing to keep you on your toes but everyone can ride at her own pace with re-groups. Meet at Orinda BART @ 8:45am.

Please note that our Cinderella series rides are for Velo Girls members only. If you're not a member, you're welcome to join us on a ride, get to know us, and see what you think, but we encourage you to join the club before your second series ride. You'll find Velo Girls membership here:

    The ride was awesome. Thanks to the ride leaders who did a great job keeping track of everyone! The weather was chilly to begin with, but warmed up (especially on the hills!). Thanks to Ginny for the loaner of full-fingered gloves to keep my fingers warm!

    Just a quick note- bring your layers. There will be a nip in the air when we start, but by the time we climb- you will want to start shedding layers. It should be a beautiful day for this ride!

    This ride meets at 845AM @ the Orinda BART station. Please look for us where the train lets out- you have to go left at the entrance and over a little bridge. This week's ride will take us to the Three Bears Hills. It's a beautiful ride, but can be a challenge for those who haven't climbed hills in awhile. The ride 22 miles and takes 2-3 hours, depending on the pace. For those of you not up for climbing, the East Bay Melo Velo will be held on Sunday Feb 3rd. Same starting place - Orinda BART at 9 AM. We will ride at least 15 miles but not more than 22 miles - and the terrain like the Sausalito ride.

    Regardless of which ride you chose, please remember:
    - your helmet (mandatory)
    - water, food, and a bit of cash
    - ID (license & insurance info)
    - your bike must be in good working order
    - carry a tire changing kit and a spare tube
    - no earbuds/ipods
