Are you planning to ride the Cinderella Classic on April 6th, 2013? If so, this is the PERFECT clinic for you. We combine the best skills from our Bike Skills 101 (fundamentals) and 301 (group riding) modules, along with important information about nutrition and bike maintenance, to start you off in the right direction for a successful event. Then, join us for our progressive training ride series that begins the following week and you'll be crossing the finish line in style! Meet other women who will be riding Cinderella and have a GREAT day of bike-love learning.

This is an outside, on-the-bike clinic. You will need to provide your own bike, helmet, and cycling clothes.

Please note, this clinic is not part of the regular Velo Girls club activities. There is a registration fee for this clinic. We are not accepting payment via meetup. We have posted this event on Meetup for informational purposes only. You may RSVP on the meetup, but only those who have registered online @ http://savvybike.eventbrite.com will receive detailed confirmation information.

UPDATE (01/06/13): This clinic is already half full -- there are only 12 spots left.

I went on a great hilly ride today and did Kennedy and 4 other hills in Los Gatos and I was able to practice the great techniques you taught us. Thanks Lorri!!

I practiced riding with no hands ( not on the descents or climbs), being in the right hand position for what I was doing, moving around on the bike, cornering on descents ( still needs a lot of work) and ... applying the breaks more selectively on the descents. It made a huge difference. As did eating small amounts as I was riding.

Lorri - do you ever have longer intermediate rides?

    • Lorri Lee L.

Hi Lori! We have three progressive endurance series this year: Cinderella, Hill Climbing, and Foxy's Fall Century. In addition, I'm hoping to start a weekly Medio Velo ride this year (30-45 miles) and working on a way to recruit and develop new ride leaders to support that ride.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it to the clinic today. But I plan to join the group for the Cinderella progressive training rides. I'm in for the ride this sun. Hope to meet you then!

Hi Barbara! This IS a great clinic. We've taken material from two of our 4-hour clinics (Bike Skills 101 and 301) and combined them, along with info on nutrition and bike maintenance to really help build your confidence -- perfect at the beginning of the season. You do not need to be registered for Cinderella or participating in our Cinderella series to participate in this clinic.

The Cinderella Classic is an annual all-women's bicycle ride (April 6th this year) that starts in Pleasanton. It's an awesome event and one of the inspirations for Velo Girls
