January 2012 Verge Kickoff

Happy Monday! We are kicking off this year’s startup event lineup with a classic meetup in downtown Indianapolis on Thursday, January 26 at 6:00 PM (registration is live now). This Thursday, you can expect to find a crowd of over 200 people at the Earth House Collective, where attendees will pack into the auditorium to drink, chat, and enjoy three engaging entrepreneur presentations:
  • ViewYou, the visual platform for connecting students and employers
  • Quick Box Social, a software that simplifies building interactive facebook pages
  • Fireside chat from Christopher Day, who has built five companies over the past two decades and is an active investor with Navidar.

Food and drink will be provided thanks to our phenomenal sponsors: Slingshot SEO, Expected Behavior, DeveloperTown, and BLASTmedia. If you bump in to someone from on of these companies at the event, please be sure to thank thank them!

Registration is now open through  the Verge meetup page. Presentations will be streamed live on  the Verge facebook page on the day of the event (Thursday, January 26 at 6:00 PM). Best, Matt

Great first Verge event! Energetic vibe, impressive crowd, pitches were informative yet concise, and obviously great beer from Upland.

It was a great event with good food and beer. I was especially excited to hear that you guys were going to dive into sessions about customer acquisition. When were you guys thinking about starting that up?

Cant think of any better way to spend my 2 hours ! Amazing group of people and excellent line up of presentations. Brandon Corbin was outstanding - he packed half a day's worth or information into 5 mins ! Picking Christopher Day's mind yielded a good harvest of 'pearls of wisdom' :) . Matt, your enthusiasm is contagious.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
