Game Fest & Potluck 8: Babes in Gameland! (hosted by WGN)

Join Us for Westside Geeks & Nerds' 8th Game Fest & Potluck event!

Come celebrate the spirit of Christmas early in December at the next Game Fest & Potluck event!

Bring holiday foods, drinks, and snacks and even Holiday-themed games!

Come dressed up in festive colors of red, gold, blue, green, and silver (optional but encouraged).

The Game Fest Potlucks are very lively, super fun, highly diverse, and social, featuring tabletop and console gaming, and food and drink of all kinds!

If you love all-night gaming, cool geeky company, and lots of food, this event's for you!

I will be renting a large warehouse loft space for this event to cover expenses of the building, decorations, tables/chairs, so an attendance fee is necessary from guests to attend this event.

You can pay through PayPal, in person with cash before the event, or pay at the door DOE.

• PayPal attendance fee: $10 (PayPal transactions fee make it $9.41)

Send PayPal Payment: LINK

Send attendance fee to [masked]

• In cash/in person before the event: $10

• Pay at the door (DOE -Day of Event): $12 (cash)

In order to secure your spot for the event, the $10 fee is required.

You will be placed on a prepaid guest list which will be checked at the door.

For those paying at the door, you will sign in and pay in cash upon coming in.

Any guests you spontaneously bring must pay the fee in cash when they arrive with you. So even if you sign up here for the event, your guests won't be confirmed unless they pay at the door.

Food and/or drink contribution (try to think affordable but adequate dinner and snack options).

For the potluck, please feel free to bring homemade food, dinner foods, packaged snacks and drinks, various tasty finger foods, and desserts! We had LOTS of yummy food at the last 6 events, which was amazing!

Here are some ideas (no one should come empty-handed as this is a POTLUCK)

• Sushi platters (both traditional and/or vegetarian)

• Dinner foods (enchiladas,  casseroles, sliders, pastas, burritos, tacos, wraps, etc.)

• Cookies and crackers

• Chips, popcorn, and dips

• Sandwiches and salads

• Cool & unique ethnic desserts and dishes of any kind

• Cupcakes, brownies, pies, and cakes

• Pizzas

• Sodas, punches, juices, and water

• Breads, noodle dishes, and rice blends

To make the food variety a lot more fair and even, consider decent dinner-like, entree-like, platter-like food contributions. Unique and Christmas-inspired foods are especially encouraged.

Also consider vegan, vegetarian, or sensitive to gluten. As a vegan, I'll make sure to cover some of that base, along with other things.

Alcohol is allowed on the premises.

As always, with alcohol involved you MUST be 21+ to drink and YOU must drink responsibly.

Inebriated/drunk guests will not be welcomed back to any future events and will be removed from the group. I don't want to be responsible for this type of complication. As a renter, I am responsible for maintaining the integrity and quality of the establishment and any guests I allow over. Plus we have to clean up after the event, so it's inconsiderate to trash and defile the place through drunken behavior and consequences of any kind.

The Game Fests are a lot more delightful with lots of entertainment. It wouldn't be a Game Fest without games, games, and more games. So bring what you can and want. We'll have a large table to stack games on. If you'd like to tag your games with a sticker or marker to show ownership, please do so. It is advised, actually.

Bring MONITORS and laptops for video gaming.

We can set up gaming station in parts of the warehouse.

If some of you would like to set up holiday contest or gift-exchange or gift giving games (such as Secret Santa) that feature awards and prizes, then we can discuss this in the commentary section and brainstorm over ideas and setup.

We'll need collective contribution of things such as: trash bags, ICE, lots of water, and ice coolers to store drinks and beverages in.

Last but not least, please bring the most important thing of all:

An unadulterated desire and craving to have lots of fun!

If you have any ideas (or suggestions) to add, please post them!

Just sent out the email with all of the info for tomorrow's event. If anyone does not receive it, please let me know, and I'll send out another copy.

Also, make sure to check your spam folders, too, just in case meetup emails wind up there.
