The Virginia Happy Trails Running Club is composed of people who like to run on dirt trails. Though based in northern Virginia, most club members live within the metropolitan DC area, with several others scattered in many other states. The club members are of varying running abilities and ages. Many run ultramarathons, but some don't run at all. The VHTRC holds a monthly training run -- we call it the "PB&J run" because we love post-run snacks as much as we love the runs themselves. (Participants don't have to bring snacks, but we'll never turn down a free homemade PB&J.) The PB&J run is held on the third Saturday of every month (often on the Bull Run-Occoquan Trail in Fairfax County or at Prince William Forest Park in Prince William County), unless that date conflicts with another VHTRC event. We typically run 7 to 10 miles, though there's always a few folks who want to do a bit more mileage if you're in the mood for a longer run. Details on each month's training run will be posted here, as well as on the VHTRC site: http://www.vhtrc.org/news/trainingList We hope to see you at a PB&J run soon ... happy trails!
