VGN Game Night 8-15-14 (Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros., Fighters, Shooters, Sports)

  • Aug 15, 2014 · 8:30 PM
  • University of Houston University Center

Note: Disregard the RSVP count since many gamers who attend don't necessarily RSVP through meetup.com. There's been anywhere from around 10 - 65 gamers in attendance but the average game night is around 25-35 gamers.

Time & Place: 8/15/14 from 8:30p until about 1:30a; UH in the University Center - Commons/Lounge area(Immediately to the right after going through front entrance of UC)

Here is a link to the UC's web page where you can get directions. http://www.uh.edu/uc/....

What: Play various fighting games competitively or casually like Project M/Brawl/Melee, USFIV, UMVC3, etc.; Play sports titles like NBA 2K14, Madden 25, FIFA, Fight Night, UFC etc.; Play shooters like Killzone 3, COD Black Ops II and Halo 4; We also play puzzle games like various versions of Tetris, action titles like New Super Mario Bros. Wii U, brawlers or hack'n'slashers like Warriors Orochi, and other games like Mario Kart, League of Legends, Wii Sports, etc.

Also, more people are starting to bring their DS/3DS so if you want to find some 3DS gaming buddies come check it out. VGN will probably host a Nintendo/3DS centered event real soon so check back.

We sometimes chill afterwards at an after-hour restaurant or something. We do this depending on if people are hungry or not, etc. People will suggest an after-hours spot somewhere in the city and we've tried a nice variety of spots already. We've done Greek, a pizzeria, Mexican, Vietnamese/Chinese, traditional diners, and found some pretty good spots. It's just chill, eat, and discuss gaming, movies, comics, current events, or just whatever stuff that's going on.

Where's the best place to park?

    August 15, 2014

    • Joe

The best place would be right in front of the UC where the flags are with the curved driveway. If there's no spots there you can check the side of the UC building and there's also across the street where the bar and restaurants are in the big parking lot but as close to the UC as possible.
