  • University of Houston University Center

Time & Place: UH in the University Center - Bluebonnet (Rm 250) on the 2nd floor of the UC; 11/9/12 from about 8:45p until around 12:45a, or 1:45a if we get permission for extended hours from the UC. Here is a link to the UC's web page where you can get directions. http://www.uh.edu/uc/.... If you are unsure contact the VGN organizer.

What: Check out and play Halo 4; Play various fighting games competitively; 360 LAN or split-screen for Shooters depending on who shows up and what they bring. (Contact organizer about which FPSs); Check out or play League of Legends and maybe form your own team with other VGN gamers

Consoles & Games

Featured Games: Halo 4

Other Games: Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, Soul Calibur V, King of Fighters XIII, SSFIV2012, Smash Bros. Brawl, Tekken 6, SFXTekken, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat 9, BlazBlue, Ghost Recon Future Soldier, CoD Black Ops, Halo Reach, New Super Mario Bros., Tetris, Mass Effect 3, etc.

Note: A 360 LAN can be setup for multiplayers. If interested, let the organizer know if you can bring any games, consoles, screens, controllers, or LAN equipment so it can be coordinated. There will be at a minimum 4 player split-screen action on a projector that displays up to 200" if gamers want to play any FPSs/3PSs.

If anyone's interested in forming a competitive team for Halo 4, Ghost Recon FS, League of Legends, or whatever game, contact the organizer or come by a game night. The organizer would like to put a VGN team together.

Disregard the RSVP count since many gamers who attend don't necessarily RSVP through meetup.com. Lately game nights have been averaging about 50 - 55 gamers.

Ok so I realize that gamers are usually introverted etc etc...but when people with the same personalities get together, it shouldn't be segregated. Where was the leader last night? Anyway, I'd come again if we were all more interactive with each other. Otherwise, good idea.

I'll agree that some gamers can be introverted, but that's people. There could be introverted people anywhere. The majority in VGN I would say aren't, as we often talk during and after game nights about games, anime, sports, career, life, whatever. We also many times go out to a restaurant afterwards and sometimes that's the most entertaining part of the night. There's almost always something funny/crazy that happens that makes going out to eat afterwards worth it. Just ask Phamink about one of the incidents. Lol.

Anyway, about 5 other LoL players showed up probably around the middle of the night, and I let them know I would try to get the LoL players to start confirming their attendance for events more so that there's not 6 or 7 one week and 2 the next. Also, I welcome any more suggestions or critiques. I don't take anything like that personal. I started doing featured games and hopefully that will get a more centralized and interactive gathering of gamers but it's hard to keep it from breaking down along genre lines, fighters, FPSs, PC gamers. Anyway, good afternoon to you. I've got to catch the rest of the Giants/Bengals game.

Not very interactive as I thought it would be. Meeting gamers in real life in the same city is a plus versus just doing it online.

I'm sure of it's location and availability, not sure if it's got the right label on the map. If they can't find it I'm sure the 20A location you mentioned will work too.

I'm interested in SC2, is there any interest other than my own? Also do I need to bring my own console, PC?

What games do you want to play? Actually, Joseph brought his tower at least once. Depending on the game you're playing, another console might be useful.

I think a few people have mentioned SC2. I'll have to do an events strictly for interest in PC titles.
