Photo Excursion to Rigi & Seebodenalp

Join Matt Anderson & Bryan Siebel for a casual photography excursion to the hilltop countryside between Seebodenalp and the Rigi where the borders of cantons Zug, Schwyz and Luzern converge. Bryan shot this outstanding image at Seebondenalp just two weeks ago! There's lots to point your camera at up there.

We'll travel in the Viewfinder bus - leaving from the Zurich HB at 9:00 and returning by ca. 18:00. This day trip is the perfect opportunity to dust off your camera and warm up your photography skills before springtime - which feels like it may have already arrived!

We'll seek out some interesting compositions as we stroll the hilltop trails, enjoying views of both Lake Luzern, the Zugersee and (hopefully) the Alps. At lunchtime we'll pop into Hotel Seebodenalp for a bite.

If the weather decides not to cooperate - we'll come up with a nearby alternative, such as a visit to Verkehrshaus Luzern, but we will get out – rain or shine! Please note, this is a paid event (due to transportation being provided by Viewfinder). RSVP by registering and paying via PayPal (all major credit cards are accepted). The cost of lunch is not included. No gondola tickets will be necessary, though our "plan B" could involve an entrance fee if bad weather forces us to change the plan.

Rendezvous at 08:45 by the Viewfinder van - parked in the short term parking lot on the north side of the Zurich HB (across from the National Museum). Bring your hiking boots and camera and we'll see you in Zurich!

It was a great time gang! Thanks to everyone who joined us for the first of our so-called "Excursions" at Viewfinder. Bryan's contributed so many great exposure tips and we're looking forward to involving him more in the future. Stay tuned!

Wolf like to join but the RSVP seems to be closed. Can I still register?

Hi Ora, we would love to have you, but we're already sold out. The RSVPs were coming from Meetup and from our website. Since we have a limited number of seats in the van, we had to limit the group size carefully. Hope to catch you next time though!

    Heh Matt, Bryan,

I am booked on a weekend snowshoe trip from Davos to Arosa ...... its obviously weather dependent and will join at late notice (Thursday before) if the trip is cancelled due to bad weather.

I like the idea of day trips, keep em coming!

Hi Barry, thanks so much for your interest! We would absolutely love to have you, but we've already sold out. Have a great time snowshoeing though! Sounds fabulous.

If this sunny weather continues, the wildflowers will be out in force, so this trip will suit both landscape and macro enthusiasts.
Unless there are fresh falls, there may be little or no snow at the level of Seeboden, though it is barely an hours walk up to the top of the Rigi if you really want snow. The image above was shot around 4pm about 2 weeks ago.
I'll post a bit more info closer to the trip.
