Don't forget! Bobby Scott's 37th Annual Labor Day Picnic next Monday (9/2)!

  • Congressman Bobby Scott's Annual Labor Day Picnic

It's that time of year again!

Not leaving town for the  3-day weekend?  Don't have big plans to hang out with your friends on Labor Day?

Now you do!  (Have plans AND friends!)

Come out and meet your neighbors, other Democrats, and many local political representatives, at Congressman Bobby Scott's Annual Labor Day Picnic!

Outdoor location:  914 Shore Drive, Newport News, Virginia

Each year hundreds of people from our community gather at Congressman Bobby Scott's Labor Day picnic. Many of our Democratic political representatives attend from across the state and speak, and are also available during the picnic to talk with their constituents and the press. Don't let special interests be the only voices your political representatives hear! Come out and meet them in person, and tell them about issues important to YOU!

Congressman Scott has given excellent representation to his district, Virginia, and the Democratic Party for many years.  Bobby Scott helped Senator Webb get the New G.I. Bill on its feet by co-sponsoring the bill in the House.  He was one of the few Congressmen who voted against the Iraq War originally, and he resisted draconian Bush-era legislation such as the "PATRIOT" Act that attacked our civil liberties.  He's especially known for good budgeting skills.

You'll find Congressman Scott to be very knowledgeable, and very happy to talk with everyone.

The picnic is held in the large waterfront backyard of the Shore Drive address on the invitation. As you approach the street, you'll notice parking attendants who will guide you to side streets where you can park. There is no admission charge and refreshments are free -- all you have to do is get directions from or and find your way.

Come out and meet other Democrats, thank Bobby Scott for his great service to Hampton Roads, and talk to your political representatives about issues that matter to you!
