Virtual Reality Los Angeles #2

If you did not RSVP on Eventbrite you can still come, but you will not able to enter the MxR building. We will have plenty of VR demos outside on their parking lot.

We are thrilled to announce VRLA #2 will take place at the MxR Lab, a virtual reality research facility at USC's Institute for Creative Technologies. While MxR is usually closed off to the public, they have graciously agreed to host VRLA for a rare opportunity to check out some of their demos including:

• E2C2 - BlueShark Demo: Office of Naval Research project looking at communication and collaboration within the Navy in 2020 and beyond

• HMP: Head Mounted Projector Project for Small Squad Training Demo

• WIDE5 HMD - ReDirected Walking Demo: Full locomotion in a virtual environment where perceptual tricks are employed to redirect the user

•  WIDE HD: A hi-res, 140 degree field-of-view HMD

• Suite of immersive viewers: Smartphone and tablet based immersive viewer demos

• Rapid avatar capture demo

Exhibitors and more details will be announced soon!

Great event last Monday... Does anyone know if these lenses work with both VR2GO and Google Cardboard? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BQSWK8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'd love to collaborate with other cool VR startups or individuals. DoubleMe(doubleme.me) magically "doubles" your body into 3D models in real-time! We make mathematical & digital copies of humans or animals with original motions and textures (skin, clothes, etc), hence "double." I'll be there and demo our technology. See you soon! Ciao!

Just wondering if any spots opened up on the wait list?

    June 20, 2014

  • Anthony N.

Hey if I have a plus one do they need to register? Or my plus one gets them in no matter what, because she said she's on the waitlist

  • Christina W

I'm off the wait list on Meetup, so then went to register at Eventbrite. Eventbrite says tickets sold out. Am I in?

Virtual Feel is here with KOR-fx! You can now FEEL everything that happens in the games.

We just got back from E3, with lots of positive feedback from attendees. And just completed our Kickstarter funding in 6 days :) http://korfx.com/kickstarter Would love to collaborate and maybe even work on stretch goals based on community suggestions.

Also, would love to give demos at the upcoming event. Hope to make it :)

I'm a newbie here. Looking forward to meeting folks. I'm planning to attend the E3 mixer. BTW, anyone with Unity skills interested in working to test some ideas I have using a DK1 - love to talk. I'm happy to share what I know about the Rift specifically as well as general observations about the space.

    Take care!

I think the relevant quote was attributed to Babe Ruth, where he was commenting on a social venue and said, "Nobody goes there any more; it's always too crowded!"
