Probably back in the mid-80's.
Although it's an instrumental, I wish I could be known for writing the acoustic guitar piece Bron-Yr-Aur by Jimmy Page.
After playing classic rock for several years, I took up playing cello for a year and a half before studying classical guitar. I thought classical guitar was boring. Now I have a degree in classical guitar performance.
It depends. My instrumental songs obviously start out as music first. My songs with lyrics start out with the lyrics first.
Multi-genre: Pop, Blues, Contemporary Christian, Jazz...Whatever I'm feelin' at the moment.
With guitar as my main instrument, I write songs that range from inspirational to just plain goofy.
I always come away with great ideas on how to make my songs better, and it happens in such a way as I feel positively encouraged.
