Yes, the email trail has become way too long. I'm only adding One thought. Better to do this on meetup - Yes. But can you all send an email once an actual event is planned with place & address - one of the Meetup notices type of thing?? I don't need all the extra discussions. Then we can reply Yes or No, like John suggested. I won't be organizing, just going if a place is somewhat close & I'm available. I already emailed you all my phone #, so you can call about an event if you like. THANKS. Too many emails, I agree.

The email trees are getting long (and cumbersome) for some to receive and follow. I suggest the Chicago Songwriter's Collective start an on-line forum. That would be a place that people can visit, check out items, and pick and choose what they want to comment one at will, (without being bombarded by emails). It's easy to set up. There are places that do Free forum hosting. (Proboards comes to mind).
I would be willing to set it up. (Though just about anybody can). We could have linked forums (fora?) that could discuss whatever topic members are interested in; open mics; recording; gigs; new music; up-coming events and meetings; whatever.
So, if this sounds good, let me know.
Marshall
