Hi John, I think it is going to be better if the group meets on Fridays or some of the weekend days,. What makes you believe that Mondays are the best for it? Most of people are working later than 6pm, so no time is left to get to the meeting. I would like to continue  meeting all of you.

communal, group, combined, cooperative, joint, shared, united??
 
Turns out those are synonyms for Collective - as in Chicago Songwriters Collective.  Why does that matter?  We are by definition a community of people in the Chicago regional area.    I believe it's time to amp up the shared side of the name.  We recently hit a really impressive number of having 400 members on meetup.  But most of us aren't really getting to know each other enough to benefit from the collaborative possibilities that are so important to success in this field.  So here is 2 simple suggestions. 
 
1.  If someone is going out to an open mic let's get that on the group calendar and see about having other members come out and play or just to support each other.  It's a good way to get to see each other 'in action' and also support a vital part of the music scene for folks like us.  P.S. - let me know if there is any problem getting events on the calendar.  I know all the organizers/co-organizers can add dates, but not sure what limits are on everyone else.
 
2.  Let's start posting some of our music/videos up on our Chicago Songwriters Collective facebook site, which gives some exposure to the wider world.  Cool.
