Americana Duo, The Red Wine Effect, Announces “Adopt-a-Vine” Project
Nashville, TN– The Red Wine Effect (redwineeffect.com), a Nashville-based Americana duo comprised of singer/songwriter moms Hollie Brogunier of Lebanon, and White House resident Kathy Redwine, is planning to record their first full-length album and plant a small vineyard in the Fall of 2013. The long-awaited freshman album will be the group’s first opportunity to put their original music on iTunes and release their material to radio. To fund their efforts, they have created a unique fundraising project which will allow their supporters to enjoy the “fruits” of their labor.
The Adopt-a-Vine project concept is simple. A backer “adopts” a vine. A vine is planted in the vineyard with the backer’s name on it. For 2 years, the backer receives monthly photo updates of their maturing vine and a final shipment of the grape juice harvested from their vine. The proceeds from the project will be used to record and produce an album. Kathy Redwine, the duo’s bassist/vocalist said “We are so excited to do our first full-length album, and just as excited to plant our vineyard. Time to make these dreams come true!”
More information can be found on the project website, adopt-a-vine.redwineeffect.com . For supporters that don’t wish to adopt a vine, the website also offers other ways to participate. All of the project backers will receive a signed copy of the album and get their name in the album credits. The goal is to raise $5000 to make a full-length album or a minimum of $2500 to make an EP. The project will run through September and the album will be released toward the end of October.
Their music, which features tight harmonies and insightful songwriting, has been described as “Wilson Phillips meets Indigo Girls.” “We’ve been playing around Nashville and building our fan base since 2010. Earlier this summer, we had the opportunity to perform at the Key West Songwriters Festival and tour in Florida, Maryland, and Virginia. I think it’s about time we put our music out there and see where else it takes us,” said Hollie Brogunier, guitarist/vocalist.
