“ I was most impressed with Cliff. His knowledge base, with regard to the industry, voice and sound dynamics, how it applies to us AND how we can benefit from it, is extremely broad, helpful and insightful. But, more importantly, he's conversational and knows how to make people feel comfortable. I highly recommend this class as a first step for those considering voice work as a career. I can't wait for the next meeting as I will be jumping in head first. ”
— Todd Davis on Oct 28, 2008.
“ You would want to join this group if you are thinking about doing Voice Over (VO) work for REAL. The Newbie/Intro class will let you know if this is for you. It is a serious trade, yet not so serious that you don't have a great time working on your skills and developing your talent with someone who has not just been there but is there now. Instructor is passionate and dedicated to working with all comers, so if it (talent) is in there, he'll find it and help you get going in the right direction! ”
— Kevin Bullard on Oct 28, 2008.
“ It's hands on ! You actually DO it ! You learn and you experience and Cliff is great ! ”
— Barbara on Jul 22, 2008.
“ I've only attended one meeting so far, so I'm still getting a feel for things. My first impression, though, is quite favorable. Cliff knows his stuff. He doesn't try to sugar-coat anything and make it sound better than it really is, and he can walk through tricky technical subjects in a way that's easy to understand, both of which are especially helpful for folks new to the subject. The atmosphere is very upbeat and friendly. Tonight's session was pretty much all lecture and some Q&A, but other sessions involve a lot more hands-on work with scripts from what I understand. ”
— Justin Barrett on Jul 7, 2008.
“ Last night was my first meetup with DVA. I'm exploring various creative/artistic venues and voice acting popped up on my radar, or possibly the technical end. I enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to attending the next meetup to read some material and glean whether my voice is worthy of being on the air. Ciao! ”
— Liz Stanton on Dec 18, 2007.

“ If you're serious about voice acting, practicing is key and receiving advice from someone in the biz is good stuff. ”
— ram rodriguez on Oct 12, 2008.
“ You get information and advice for setting up a home studio, details on what's involved in promoting your work, and -- the fun part for me -- chances to read and get honest feedback and assistance. Cliff does have a separate workshop periodically; you will see the workshop being promoted a little, but rest assured the Meetup group itself is useful and interesting. It isn't one of those setups where you're just there to be sold on a paid seminar. There are always people in the group who've done the workshop as well, and they rave enough that you may find you're interested in doing that, too, but if you just want to get your feet wet, you'll feel quite at home and supported in exploring. (Be prepared for meetings to run long, though! In the process of doing all the productive stuff, everyone involved gets chatty ... and I say that as one who's no exception. :) ”
— Andrea on Jul 24, 2008.
“ It's a great way to meet others who are interested in the same genre and it helps ease the fears of speaking in front of a crowd. And with his incredible directing ability, he will bring out the best in you & your ability to do VO. ”
