Attention New Members!

This will be the LAST Newbie’s Night until Fall ’09.
After this, we will begin rolling the seven spokes again. Actually we are adding a new spoke and combining two. More details to follow.

Some of you have pre registered. Those that have, please RSVP in the usual way.

This is for those who have been to no more than 1 meet up. Members who have attended 3 or more meet ups are well acquainted with this seminars topics.

The basics are extremely important and the understanding of those basics dictate whether or not one cares to pursue this adventure.

This is a 2 1⁄2 hour seminar that introduces the skills required to pursue a career in voice acting. We will be discussing The Big 3, Physical, Technical and Psychological. Here is a great opportunity to evaluate your potential and really see if this is something you’d like to commit yourself to. Everyone will get a chance to read some copy. It may be an advertisement, Children’s story or even the local weather. You will leave with a clear understanding of this industry, where it is going and what is needed to hop on board.

Price: $21.00 per Person

Talk about this Meetup

This meetup was excellent. Cliff is very good teacher. You can tell that he enjoys this industry and helping other people. I would recommend coming to this class if you are interested in getting into VO work.

Who attended?

  • 15 attendees
    •  It is obvious that Cliff put effort and energy into ensuring that this initial meetup was not only full of very useful information, but that we also received time to do readings and receive positive critical feedback. I would suggest that the meeting time be extended from 7pm to 10:30pm - there's just so much to cover! And we ended up staying late anyway. This is my second introductory "class" dealing with the VO industry, and I must say that I really enjoyed the production angle that Cliff brings to the table. Knowing which hammer to use and how to best use it is invaluable. Why reinvent the wheel? I did have trouble locating the meeting site. It is located in the Promenade Shopping Center on the lower level at the north end facing west. The meeting is inside the Spiritual Fitness Center, which is situated between iTacos and Schlotsky's on the corner.
    •  It was a very thorough introduction that got me really excited about practicing voice work. The next morning I was reading shampoo bottles in the shower.
    •  Lots of great information. Loved the fact that it just wasn't spouting off info...let us actually dip a toe into reading.
