Hello Fellow Spikers,
Hope you all had an enjoyable weekend. The weather turned out to be nice with no winds this
afternoon for outdoor V-ball at Victory Park. We had a very good turnout of folks at the Meetup
I've checked the facilities information of Victory Park in the Parks and Facilities section of the
City of Pasadena website. As far as I can tell, what's called the upper field will be lighted
from 6:00 to 9:00 PM for soccer on Tuesday and Thursday nights up until the week before
Christmas. Then, there will be no lights until Wednesday, February 1st, when baseball
practices begin. But we'll have to see how long the field lights actually stay on. For the past
2 years, they've been on through the second week of December.
I also checked the facilities information of Jefferson Park (on Villa between Hill and Allen)
where we've relocated to from mid-December to early Feburary the past 2 winters when the
field lights have been turned off at Victory Park. According to this information, there are no
field lights on until the second week of February when baseball begins there. So, Jefferson
Park may be unavailable for us this winter.
I've been told that Eagle Vista Park in Eagle Rock (134 Freeway at Figueroa, just west of
Colorado St. Suicide Bridge) has field lights on at night (possibly until 10:00 PM). But I'll
need to verify this. Would this location work out for weeknight V-ball during the period
of time when the field lights are off at Victory Park? Or would any of you know of another
park with field lights that is centrally located for mostly everyone? Please let me know.
Have a good week ahead of you,
