Final Lincoln park Picnic

Up coming events: 4/01/14: Opening Day ••• 9/06/14: Annual Picnic - Once again at Bunker Hill ••• 9/30/14: Year-End Cookout •••To all past and present LPVBers: As you may or may not have heard, the 2014 Lincoln Park Volleyball Picnic, which will take place (SAVE THE DATE NOW) on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Bunker Hill Forest Preserve, Grove #1, at 11:00am, will be the 50th and LAST Lincoln Park Volleyball Picnic.  For various reasons, it's been decided to discontinue the picnic, although we will continue to play volleyball at the ancestral spot (South Fields, Lincoln Park) as always on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm, April through September, as long as we can get enough people to muster one net's worth on a regular basis.  Opening night for 2014 is right around the corner - April 1, 2014, no foolin' - free cold adult beverage to all attendees.  The season-ending barbeque, which also features complimentary adult beverages along with delicious BBQ, is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, September 30, 2014.Since this year's picnic will be the last one, we are asking all our friends and current and former players not only to attend the picnic (and play if possible), but to make an extra effort to try to contact any and all long-gone or out-of-touch people who played in the park or were part of the LPVB scene over the last fifty years, give them the above info, and gently persuade them to go to the picnic!  There may or may not be special stuff that will happen for the picnic to commemorate the end of an era - we're hoping to chronicle it all on our website - check out

Who knows, maybe we could Facebook this thing or something.  Feel free to fling us some feedback.Yours in volleyball, HIT IT HARD, LPVB Committee
