You really don't want to miss the indomitable Yehuda Duenyas, creator of "The Ascent"

Yehuda will be lecturing and discussing his incredible piece, "The Ascent." This will be a lecture only, with visuals and technical experts on hand to answer your questions about this highly original work of art.

The Ascent is an immersive spectacle that allows participants to levitate high into the air through saturated environments of interactive lighting, sound, and atmospherics. The Ascent is driven solely by the participants' brainwaves. Part interactive installation, part ride, part game, this ecstatic-transcendent experience is the first bio-driven ride of it’s kind, and has been deemed the largest EEG bio-feedback installation in the world. The Ascent uses cutting edge neuro-technology to deliver a mythic, mind altering experience of the intersections between humans and machines, transcendence and technology.

xxxy (aka Yehuda Duenyas) creates immersive encounters, and interactive experiences; environments which sensuously evoke the mythic, the intimate, the ridiculous, and the sublime. His techniques emerge from immersive theater, large-scale installation design, ride design, gaming mechanics, and interactive technologies.  Presented nationally and internationally, and with an extensive background as a theater artist and director, Yehuda has custom-built numerous venues and mounted a range of productions and spectacles that re-envision how audiences engage and interact with live experience. He is a consultant for various clients, including Walt Disney Imagineering, holds an MFA in integrated Electronic Arts from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is a founding member of the multi-award-winning theater collaborative the National Theater of the United States of America (NTUSA). Yehuda lives and works in New York and Los Angeles.

This event will take place at 3 Legged Dog Art and Technology Center. 3-Legged Dog exists to produce new, original works in theater, performance, media and hybrid forms. 3LD Art & Technology Center offers training in Isadora and wth Eyeliner use and installation. Please allow extra time to get to 3 Legged Dog

Really enjoyed it. The Ascent itself is supercool - a really great topic for this group. Found it fascinating, especially the history and process of developing it. And I also appreciated the openness of the presenters to questions and talking about the process. Thanks for this - it was a gem.

One of the most stimulating meetups I've attended - with a one of a kind program. Mind/body connection, technology, performance art, spirituality, smart conversations - had it all. I'm not a gamer, but this was utterly fascinating.
