Performance of Interest to Volumetric Society Members on September 15

From: Ellen P.
Sent on: Wednesday, September 5, 2012 10:33 AM

The Lumiphonic Creature Choir- will have its premiere on Saturday, September 15th at 3:00PM in the Bronx!

Please save the date.

The Lumiphonic Creature Choir is a giant twelve-headed audio-visual creature that live performers can interact and play with.

For the last four months, Mark Bolotin, an Australian artist-in-residence at Residency Unlimited in NYC has been collaborating with and filming community elders, beatboxers, children and hip hop artists in the Bronx and mixing this with material he has gathered back in the mystical land of Oz.

Mark's creations have been seen at the Sydney Opera House in Australia.

The result will be an unusual mutlimedia rock'n'roll show, mixing cultures and samples, where the twelve-headed creature contraption will take on a whole host of stories, voices and faces .  A full band will also play and interact with the creatures. It will be a real experiment in sound and vision!

So come along, tell friends and please pass on this invite to anyone who might be interested...it's FREE!

Venue:  Casita Maria Arts and Education Center, 928 Simpson Street, the Bronx.
{Right near Hunts Point Ave station on the 6 train or Simpson St station on the 5 train.}
