SINGLE VOLUNTEERS Holiday Meeting and Potluck. We will meet at the Olmsted Community Church Meeting Room (7853 Main Street, Olmsted Falls).  This is an important meeting, as we will be electing our officers for the coming year. Come to celebrate the holidays with your old friends (and make some new friends) at single volunteers. Open to all singles, even if you're just curious about our Single Volunteer group.  Bring a pot luck dish to share if you like - beverages and good company provided by Single Volunteers.  Also bring a white elephant gift to exchange (less than $5.00). If you have questions about SV check out our website at

December 21 MeetingI

It's that time of year when we think about how lucky we are, what great friends we've made - and realize that not everyone is as fortunate.   Single Volunteers is asking all members to help us donate to a bunch of guys who could use our help.  Volunteers of America has 56 young men who are in need of many things.  These young men are between the ages of 18-24 - and many are homeless or in transitional housing.  Several of these boys were in the foster care system and now find themselves on their own.  So, we will be creating care packages and goodies for them at our December meetings.

Here's what you can do. Bring 1 or 2 new warm winter hats/stocking hats to the meeting.  In addition we know what great cookie makers we have in our group.  Let's give these young men a package of Holiday Cookies.  "A Cookie Exchange".  I'm sure they don't get homemade cookies!   We ask each member to bring a couple dozen "small sized" cookies (or more) and after the meeting we'll divide them up into 60 holiday containers.  We'll make an assembly line to fill all the boxes.    We'll be the Elves....This will be fun!

Side Note:  If you have any gently used winter coats, pants, shirts, or sweaters (for men ONLY) we can collect at the December Meeting.  Wash all items and place into large garbage bags.  Please make sure that there are no rips or stains on the clothing.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
