Let's Help Clean Up Camp Cheerful for the kids!

Camp Cheerful,( a subsidiary of Achievement Centers for Children) needs volunteers  to help move beds, rearrange furniture, and to assist with general cabin, kitchen and Great Hall cleaning and light yard maintenance.

Camp Cheerful is easy to get to: Cheerful Lane is only a mile or so east of I-71 and SouthPark Mall off of Route 82 ( Royalton Rd).

Camp Cheerful provides much needed year-round recreation and support programs that are open to children and adults with special needs.  For more information or to sign up, contact Pat at [masked]

Really enjoyed all the people that I worked with. I believe we all made a huge dent in the work that needed to be completed.

My thanks to everyone who showed up and helped out today. Camp Cheerful thinks we're awesome and the kids that use this facility next week are going to appreciate our efforts.

Sorry, but I won't be able to help out after all. I hurt my ankle at the last event cleaning up at Berea Animal Rescue, and it's really bothering me still. :(

Thanks to everyone for offering to help at the Camp Cheerful project this coming Saturday, June 21st. You don't need to bring anything other than maybe a pair of gloves but you'll probably want to wear old clothes. We'll probably be dividing up into teams to move or assemble some furniture and do some cleaning. If the weather cooperates we might do some light yard work. We'll plan on starting at 11:00 and work until whenever. When you arrive at Camp, please meet in front of the Great Hall. The Great Hall has totem poles in the grassy area in front of it and is the main building that you will see as you cross the bridge. Parking is available in the lot to the left of the bridge. We'll be working with Will Davidson, Camp Cheerful's Maintenance Coordinator.
If you have any questions or if your schedule changes, just drop me a line.

Thanks. At the end of the day you're going to feel like you did something really nice for someone

    See you Saturday!

Pat, do we need to bring anything with us on Saturday?

    June 16, 2014

    • Pat

Hi Kath. Probably not. If you wear your old clothes and maybe bring a pair of gloves, that should be fine. ( I should know a little more later this week)

This is so exciting! My very first job was as a camp counselor/secretary for Camp Cheerful when I was in high school for their summer camp. Okay, I'm a dork. :)
