Two years ago, I volunteered as a tour assistant for a workshop called Central Park Playgrounds with the Greater and Greener conference and learned a lot about the playgrounds, and last year I volunteered with Saturday Green Team to help with mulching. It was nice being out in the park on a Saturday morning! If you want to join, all you have to do is go on

Please choose Saturday Green Team on Saturday June 21 from 10 am to 1 pm.
After you create an account, click Saturday Green Team (under 3b. Green Teams),
and you get to the Sign up screen for that particular event, check off "Select All", click that "Confirm All"hyperlink, click "Save"
I see myself signed up under the "Who?" column, do you see yourself? If you don't, you might be in the ("Anonymous Group"!)
Description of Saturday Green Team:
Come get down and dirty with a group of volunteers to complete large-scale horticultural and maintenance projects throughout the Park. This is a great program for everybody who is busy during the workweek and wants to get some exposure to horticulture work on the weekend. We will complete different projects in changing locations all over the Park. Projects may include raking, mulching, pulling weeds, painting, and planting. You will receive an e-mail about the meeting place approximately two days before the shift you have signed up for.
