Vote Tomorrow! Tues, Nov 2nd is Election Day

Dear Voterbook Members,

Tomorrow, Tuesday November 2nd, is election day here in New York.? Don't forget to vote!? The polls are open from 6 AM - 9 PM.?

The SmartVoter site is an excellent resource for voting information.? Enter in your address to find your polling location, a list of federal and statewide contests, and the candidates who will be on the ballot.? Take advantage of this easy one-stop site:? http://www.smartvoter.org/

Be prepared to use the new voting machines by reviewing the info here:? http://www.votethenewwayny.com/en/default.aspx

Print out this handy BOE voter tip sheet packed with answers to practical questions here:? http://www.nyccfb.info/public/VRC/BOE%20voting%20tip%20sheet.pdf

And finally, The Charter Revision Commission (CRC), which was appointed by the Mayor to consider changes to the City Charter, has submitted two ballot questions for you to vote on.? You can read more about this process on the official CRC site:? http://www.nyc.gov/html/charter/html/home/home.shtml

The NYC Campaign Finance Board has listed the pros and cons of voting yes or no to the CRC questions as well as endorsements for and against them by various city officials and organizations.? Review them here:? http://www.nyccfb.info/public/voter-guide/general_2010/ballotProposal.aspx

Voterbook recommends you vote no to both questions.? We think the CRC has hastily added these proposals and feel it would be beneficial for the commission to spend more time working with the citizens of New York in creating proposals that reflect the genuine interests of the people.?

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Best regards,
Leah
