Dear Voterbook/ObamaNYC Friends,
I am honored by Leah's message of support. I hope you will join our campaign if you believe that I can be someone who will represent the needs of regular people like us and not the big corporations and the special interests. If you are free this Thursday evening, please join us for our kick-off fundraiser. Funds will be used to create an office in the district, which will function as a home base for volunteers and people of the community to express their frustrations with business as usual in Washington. You can find more details on our facebook page here where we have just opened for a limited time a grassroots supporter level ticket price: http://www.facebook.com/events/435759413168990/
Also, since you are on meetup already, we would be delighted if you join our group of volunteers. I promise to help build a meaningful community from which we think you will benefit. Certainly we plan to win this election with a winning strategy - a campaign powered by people. http://www.meetup.com/Kurzon-for-Congress-D-NY-7-Volunteers/
p.s. If you come on Thursday, you can help me wish Leah happy birthday!

Subject: [voterbook] Kurzon for Congress!
To: [address removed]
As you may have heard our very own Jeff Kurzon, who helped us campaign for Obama since January 2007 and has helped organize our group since July 2007, is now running for US Congress! I hope you will join me in supporting him. He has set up a new meetup group dedicated to building a campaign of volunteers who share his vision of a New York politics that represent the people rather than the corporations and their lobbyists.
Jeff has set up a blog at http://www.jeffkurzon.com/blog where he has already announced his campaign; argued for marriage equality; and taken a strong stance in favor of closing a tax loophole that only benefits the hedge fund managers to our detriment.
Jeff's district (CD 7) includes the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Williamsburg, Bushwick, Cypress Hills, Red Hook, Brooklyn Heights, Dumbo, Vinegar Hill, Cobble Hill, Carol Gardens, Gowanus, Park Slope and Sunset Park; the Manhattan Neighborhoods of Little Italy, NoLita, the Lower East Side and Chinatown; and the Queens neighborhoods of Ridgewood and Woodhaven.
No matter where you live, you can join the campaign by volunteering or donating. You can also support Jeff on Twitter and/or Facebook.
I also hope you will consider joining me in supporting Jeff early in his campaign. I have donated $25 already and plan to give more. I hope you will join me in donating $25 or more here.
Voterbook welcomes your ideas for future meetups. Please join us as we engage in community and political involvement in NYC.
