So sorry guys, I came down with a cold or flu. It started Tuesday and I was hoping to be better by now, but given how I am today, I'd say I've got another 3-4 days of it at least. I think I'm legally liable for the room, so I would have to be there, but unless everyone wants a cold, it is probably not a good idea. The weather is supposed to be great Sunday, so go fly instead!
I hope it is not a deal breaker that I have no fpv equipment. just to broke right now. it would be fun to get a peak through some goggles. if anyone is in the north end of Seattle needs a spotter I am your man!!

I do have planes and a mini quad with a camera.
I bet you can do the BS part pretty well :) Its a good opportunity to find out what others are doing. We had one a couple of months ago (as sea-rc), so I probably will not have as much with me this time.

I had a glider dude at Magnuson ask me the other day, since me and the person I was with both had goggles on, where was my spotter? I asked him if he knew of any designated flying fields nearby where that rule would apply? :)
ya I can bs with the best of them. on the spotter issue if your not with the ama then probably does not matter. I know I would feel safer if I had one though.
It can / might. Ask me at the meetup if you want the details, but consider it my mission to educate :)

What will a spotter do to increase the safety of FPV? It is my contention that orientation loss in LOS flying is more prevalent than video loss in FPV flying. If anything LOS pilots should have an FPV system installed with a standby FPV pilot ready to take control - said the troll in his first post :)

Lol thats probably true chuck. I really just wam
oops the rest of the sentence is( I really just want to get a look through the goggles or at a screen.)
Justin, try to make it to north bend this weekend. I know they are calling for rain, but same all this week and there have been mostly periods of dry and sunshine (like now). I always have spare goggles with me. If you cant make it, I'm pretty sure good weather starts in April, and hopefully we will have 1 flying meetup a month.

cool thanks. I am going to try and make it out. north bend is a long drive for me so I may weight for the next one due to the weather. your offer is really generous and I appreciate it. is the site big enough for some fixed wing flying?
Yeah, not bad.Go herehttp://www.spiked3.co... and find the video titled'Testing video range at Northbend'
looks like there is plenty of room.
This group is closed. I am not stepping down, if the law changes, or more correctly if the interpretation of the law changes I may open it back up, but for now the FAA issued interpretation says FPV is illegal.
