Wake County WBON November Meeting: "How the Jobs Bill will impact the SBA"

For our November meeting Ivan Hankins, Senior Area Manager for the SBA (northeastern NC), will be discussing the impact to the SBA on the new Jobs Bill signed by the President on September 27, 2010, which includes higher guaranties for banks and the elimination of guaranty fees. This along with other programs and services available to the small business entrepreneur.

Ivan Hankins serves as the Senior Area Manager for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for northeastern North Carolina. His territory covers 34 counties in northeast North Carolina with his office located at Wake Tech Community College (Business and Industry Department) in Cary, North Carolina. In Hankins 39 years with SBA, he has served as Assistant District Director in charge of SBA financing and servicing commercial loans for the district offices of Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona; Honolulu, Hawaii; and San Diego, California, before coming to the Raleigh area in December 2003. Hankins has his Bachelor of Science Degrees in Accounting and Finance from Fairmont State University and West Virginia University.

Ivan has been the recipient of numerous SBA awards and honors in addition to the Minority Advocate Award for the State of Arizona for his work in promoting the assistance and expansion of women and minority entrepreneurship. Hobbies include restoration and collection of classic automobiles and golf.

Hankins has also has served as past Chairman of the National Foster Parent Development Committee for the Casey Family Foundation in the states of California and Arizona, and currently works with the National Football League (NFL) in Wake and Durham County to put together an annual sports camp for foster children.
