The Wake County Young Professional Republicans (YPR) was formally known as the Wake County Young Republicans until February 2010 when the association changed its name in order to delineate itself as a professional association for people ages 18-40 years old. The Wake County Young Republicans was originally founded in the early 1990s as a sub-chapter of the North Carolina Federation of Young Professional Republicans (NCFYPR) and the Young Republican National Federation (YRNF), which has been the official auxiliary of the Republican Party for over 80 years.
The Wake Co. YPRs are proud to be a part of an organization that is the oldest Republican youth movement in the United States. We are an allied Republican Organization working with other Republican organizations at both the local and national levels. Since its founding, the Wake County YPRs have grown and changed exponentially. Today, the organization continues to serve Republicans in the surrounding RDU/Raleigh/Wake Co. areas.
