A Waking Down in Mutuality Sitting with Deborah Boyar
Awakening has traditionally been experienced primarily as an interior, subjective matter within the "I"-space. In addition to helping people awaken in this classical manner, Waking Down has also developed a potent culture of Mutuality that fosters awakening through the "We"-space. Over time, Mutuality engenders deep organismic trust in Being, and helps us securely commune with others. We welcome you to join this collaborative exploration of freedom and fullness!
This event will be an opportunity to bask in an intersubjective field of Being that catalyzes integral evolution. Participants will experience gazing meditation, awakening awareness exercises, and bio-spiritually attuned dialogue that strengthens discernment, as well as the capacity to trust our experience and allow organic transformation.
Deborah Boyar, Ph.D., S.E.P., is a senior teacher of Waking Down in Mutuality and a somatic educator. She helps people awaken as the seamless expanse of Being, cultivate embodied awareness, and foster self-regulation. Her expertise lies in resolving traumatic stress patterns, and harvesting the richness of trauma to fuel human evolution. She co-founded a Waking Down school to train mentors and teachers, assists at Somatic Experiencing courses, and recently established a trauma resolution clinic at an Integral homeless shelter in northern California. Through Trauma Vidya, Deborah also volunteers in India with refugees and disaster survivors. A devotee of Adi Da for many years, she currently studies Integral theory and enjoys Integral life practice. Her longstanding explorations of spirituality, neuroscience, psychotherapy, and trauma continue with Ken Wilber, Daniel Siegel, and Peter Levine, among others.
Deborah lives in San Rafael, California, and frequently visits New York City. To schedule private sessions in New York in September, please contact [masked]
"Deborah Boyar has become one of the Great Mothers of the Waking Down in Mutuality work and community. Her very presence nurtures, holds, and accepts people wherever they are. When you share your most difficult issues and deepest wounds with her, she is always so deeply touched at the heart that you feel honored and exalted right where you've been most ashamed and distressed. This often occurs before she even begins to respond verbally! Yet Deborah also has and transmits a core of strength, discernment, and the capacity for growth through wise action and self-discipline. She is thus a remarkable embodiment and transmitter of both the feminine and masculine skills that are so crucial to us all in the present-day world."
