  • John, I am hosting a Irish Railroad Workers Museum Walking tour in Baltimore on April 20th at 10:30am starting at the B&O if others are interested. Plan on about an hour and a half with Historian Tom Ward.

  • Hi John,
I was trying to respond to your welcoming email via email... But could not find an email address.
If I have no open house on the 16th, I intend to join the hike.

  • Hi John! Thanks for welcoming me into your group. I work odd hours but look forward to making it when I can. I love the idea of exploring the history of this fascinating city!

  • Hi John,
Thank you for welcoming me. The hiking seems to be very very interesting. I'm discovering William Morris, and I'm happy to learn more.

  • Hi John,
Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm not sure I'll brave the cold for hiking, but I hope to see you when the weather gets warmer.
My picture was taken at 'cinque terre' in Northern Italy. It's a light hiking path that connects five villages through the ocean or vineyard route. It has been my favorite travel locale to date!

  • Well John thanks for the greeting. While fascinated by the architecture and engineering of the DC area from the C&O canal and George Washington, Georgetown architecture, the Washington Monument and Mall I also like to look back even further. For example, I would like to hike and find the original boundary stones (http://www.boundarystones.org/). I think it would be fun to hike the boundary in stages (if possible) finding the stones say over time? Then even look back further? Swamp? Indians?

  • John, hi there - I think you'd e-mailed the other day regarding carpooling, but I can't seem to locate the e-mail! If you are driving from the Dupont area, I can easily meet to drive out to the hike. Please just let me know what time and where to meet you. I believe you asked about the round table - I am a new member, and new to the study of the civil war; just very interested in learning more. So I'm not terribly knowledgeable, but can do some googling...) Best, Elisabeth
