A weekend at Gambier Island

This meetup is from July 20-21, 2013 with 1 night stay at our cottage (as guests).

Meet up @:
1) Georgia and Seymour (The Bay) 7:15am for bus #250 / #257 around 7:30am, arrive at Horseshoe Bay around 8:15am
2) those from the north shore, find your way to  > Horseshoe Bay Park < by 8:30am for water taxi at 8:45am
* be sure to us the washroom, water taxi takes about an hour plus another 20 minutes walk to our cottage. There will a trailer / gator to take stuff to all cottages


The GISR is next to Camp Artaban at the end of Port Graves Bay (aka Long Bay)  - http://www.gambierc.ca/map.html
Gambier Island Sea Ranch (The Sea Ranch) http://searanch.ca/


Things you need:
* sleeping bag
* dress as your normal walk
* 2 extra socks and underwear
* personal items
* foods enough for self (could mix and share)
* no need to bring water
* we bring milk and margarine <<

Accommodation:
* share 3 bedrooms
* bunk beds / mattress
* cold and WARM water
* solar power (electricity)
* small electronic cooler
* wood stove for heating / cooking
* internet by satellite at the picnic area
* cellphone signal is fair to good

Notes:
* walkers paid transportation to Horseshoe Bay. > see Meet up @:
* water taxi to sea ranch is prepaid by us. Your share of $42 return is payable after we arrive at the cottage
* no garbage collection, non biodegradable must take back with you
* Fire is a major threat to our community. Any source of burning is dangerous. Smoking is illegal on all trails
* Hike with a buddy, or at least make sure someone knows where you are planning to hike alone
* Stay a reasonable distance from deer, seals, and other wildlife

    Absoutely gorgous place to chill out. Both me and my daugher had a great time. Thank you Ricky and thank you Pat. Lovely shopping, food and hiking and canoeing. A truly memorable weekend. We are still on the water taxi...lol. See you both in Burnaby Lake walk.

    * get off bus at last stop. Horseshoe Bay Park on the left at the waterfront.
