Science World to Science World Walk

  • December 30, 2012 · 12:00 PM

Hi Everyone,

I am planning to do a hike within Vancouver but it's 20K. This is for people who want to work on their stamina and endurance. For most of us, we don't get enough opportunities to build endurance in our daily lives anymore. Since we are doing this walk in Vancouver, feel free to come and do just part of the walk. The important thing is come out and be active.

We will meet in front of Science World and walk towards Gastown and go through Coal Harbour and then all around the seawall at Stanley Park and then through the south or north side of False Creek and then back to Science World. This route will be approximately 20K. The hike should take about 4 hours or less. We will be going at a steady pace and won't stop anywhere for food until we get back to Science World. So make sure you bring water, food, snacks and so on. The bonus here is that there's lots of washrooms along the route!

This will be a great opportunity for people new to hiking as they will have their questions answered about hiking and how to get into shape for the hiking season. I may do this event for several weeks depending on the interest of the members. This event is a rain or shine event, as many people who come and do this walk carry umbrellas when it rains. I look forward to seeing you there. I will wait 15 minute so the hike will start at 12:15pm.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
