Walk Guidelines

The following guidelines grew out of past problems on walks. If everyone pays attention to these few easy guidelines, everything will go much more smoothly.

  • Please be aware of the size of the group, and try not to block the path for other users, particularly bicyclists and skaters. If there is a divided path, try to stay on the walkers' side if it is marked.

  • If your pace is faster than that of the rest of the group, please decide whether you want to
    • A) just keep on going, in which case it would be nice if you let someone know of your decision, or
    • B) stay with the group, in which case you'll need to stop from time to time to let the rest catch up.
  • Most of the group's event organizers plan washroom stops at larger washrooms which can accommodate many members at the same time. If at all possible, we'd of course prefer that you use only the designated washroom stops, so the group doesn't have to keep stopping for individuals who want to use washrooms. If you still need to stop at another washroom, please let someone know so we don't leave you behind.

  • If you decide to leave the group, for whatever reason, please let someone know, so we don't go back and look for you.
