**Cross-Posted**

~4 mile out & back hike with ~1000’ gain to the top of Terri Peak in Moreno Valley.

Payoffs include: expansive views of Lake Perris, Moreno Valley, and March ARB. Possible sightings of some shiny black lizards! Great sunset view!

This is a great conditioning hike with some steep grades. Children 12+ and well-socialized, leashed dogs are welcome.

Due to gain to distance ratio, this hike is rated: Moderate.

We will meet at 4:15 and begin hiking promptly at 4:25.

With hike, break at the top to snack, take pics, etc., we should be back to the cars by 6:30.

Hiking best practice is to bring the 10 essentials. I will, and I recommend you do too. REI has a list here: http://www.rei.com/expertadvice/articles/ten+essentials.html

I like to keep my pack as light as possible. I use this packing list for my day hike pack, which weighs very little even with food and water: http://blackwoodspress.com/blog/10910/ultralight-day-hiking-pack-list/

At the very least, you MUST bring: water, something to snack on, sunglasses, and a headlamp or flashlight, as we will be finishing the trail after sunset. There is no shade or cover on this trail. Be prepared.

Carpools are encouraged; use the comment section to coordinate rides & passes. If you aren't driving, please consider donating a few bucks to your driver's gas fund.

Sigh. I have yet another class that day. Should be better in a couple of months, as I will be finally done with school in June. Back is getting better! Enjoy!
