Description
The Sunday hike for this series will be on April 28 at Caroline Park. Once owned by the Stokes sisters at the turn of the last century, the land was given to the City of Redlands for a park to honor Caroline Stokes on the condition the park be “developed” as a natural garden. Today, a group of volunteers does most of the maintenance and gardening, and the park features excellent stands of native plants and also stunning views of the San Bernardino Mountains.
With about one mile of trails crisscrossing the park, the park invites people to linger at the gardens where volunteer docents will explain the benefits and beauty of the native plants.
Following the hike, guests will receive a free lunch, funded by Optum.
