West Seattle (Alki Beach) Night Walk

Arrive early and be ready to go at 6:30 pm. There is a short drive to the start point after we sign in. This is a 10k walk rated 1A (mostly flat and paved) and there is also a 5k route available.

Description: Walk on city sidewalks along Alki Beach on Puget Sound. Enjoy views of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Baker, the Olympic Mountains, the Seattle skyline, and a monument to Seattle's birthplace. The route includes the Log House Museum, Constellation Park on Beach Drive and the Alki Beach Lighthouse. You can watch BBQs and volleyball games on the beach, Washington State ferries to Bremerton and Bainbridge Island and the foot ferry to Seattle. We may also see rollerbladers, joggers, or even scuba divers.

Pets: Pets are permitted except in buildings. Please obey Seattle’s leash and scoop laws.

Water and Restrooms: available along route

Fees and Credit: IVV/AVA distance and/or event credit is $3.00. Free walkers are welcome; they must sign the waiver, register in the walk logbook, and carry a start card.

 

Directions: I-5 Northbound Exit #163/Southbound Exit #163A (West Seattle Bridge/Spokane St). Cross West Seattle Bridge to Harbor Ave Exit (NOT Harbor Island). Right on Harbor Ave. 7-11 is one mile ahead on the left.
