Hike along the Mississippi River

  • Apr 19, 2013 · 1:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

RSVP YES only.  ('NO' RSVPs are not required and flood my inbox with unnecessary messages.)  Thanks

Meeting location has been changed to the Longfellow Grill.  We'll meet inside the restaurant to stay out of the cold wind until everyone arrives.  Come early and enjoy lunch before the walk, and/or stay afterward for Happy Hour.

Keep my number with you that day, just in case... [masked]  Call or text me if your plans change at the last minute and you can't make it.  I can only check the RSVPs up until 12 noon, so it would be nice to know we don't need to wait for you.

In winter, we might have to walk the sidewalks along the parkway to avoid icy sections of the trail, but only if the trail is slippery and hazardous.  Otherwise be prepared to hike through snow.

11:26AM I have started to blow driveway with my big snow blower and it is getting stuck in the snow and I am puffing with barely getting anything removed so far. I will work away at it, but probably have my work out in for the day with messing around with snow for today and not have enough energy to go hiking today. It does not look like the plow is going to go down my street either. That junk will stop my car. Plenty of it is just going to melt when it warms up which starts about 1PM, the same time as the hike. I'll see you at the next hike.

Hi Angela...I miss seeing you but the Friday weather isn't looking good to me--I'm opting out but hope to see you soon on walks.

This looks like a cool place to hike but I'm not crazy about the possible ice right now and will wait for future days with better weather.
