Fishing Party Boat from Belmar

    10th Avenue & Rt 35, NJ , Belmar , NJ (map)

    40.180029 -74.029147

  • For those of you who love ocean fishing, or would like to try it! We will go fishing on the 100-foot Golden Eagle party boat that leaves from Belmar.

The boat leave promptly at 7:30 a.m., returning at about 2:30 p.m. That means, we need to be at the dock by 7:00 a.m. The boat goes out for stripers and bluefish, but I’m sure there are plenty of other fish that are eagerly waiting to jump onto your hook. Catch your own dinner!
The cost of the trip is $58, and you can rent a fishing rod for an additional $5 and you get bait too!!! Food is whatever you bring, so you are welcome to bring your own snacks, drinks, and lunch. For those who are not used to being on an ocean vessel, you might want to bring some Dramamine.

I am not going to collect money or make a group reservation. Everyone who wants to go on this trip, please RSVP and then show up EARLY on the morning of the trip. I recommend: the earlier the better, so that no one is shut out from going. Being on the boat before 7:00 a.m. is recommended.

Bad weather or threatening will cancel, the trip and I will come up with another date.

Another comment: This trip will be cancelled in the event of bad weather. Meaning, rain, strong winds, or any other marine warnings that will make the day unpleasant. There are few things less enjoyable than being out on a boat in the rain and wind. I will post the day and night prior to the trip, and also early the morning of the trip (VERY early!!) as to whether or not it is on. If it's sunny and nice, it will be on.

Yes Elyse, you can bring a cooler with something to eat and drink. Also a good idea will be to wear a hat and bring along sun tan/sunblock lotion.

I'm a maybe. I'd like to go but I can't get myself to kill any fish. Can I just come along for the fun of it? Smiles.

Marena, If you choose to fish you can do a catch and release of them (most fishing is this way because of the size restrictions LOL). However, if you want to just come along for the ride I suggest you call the boat captain and ask if it is permissible and how much that would cost you

I would also suggest to bring a couple of dollars to tip the mates for their work during the trip (not necessary though). If you catch any keepers (NJ has size regulations) the mates can also fillet them on the boat and for this I suggest a tip of a dollar per fish.
