Holmdel Park

Hello Walkers, It's been a while since we visited here... So how 'bout coming out on Sunday, August 18th @ 8:30am. and joining me for a walk in the ever so Beautiful  Holmdel Park.

We will be meeting in the Parking Lot of Holmdel Park which is also the home of the Legendary Longstreet Farm... Which BTW is still a working Farm.

We will gather at the Pavilion which is right next to the lake. From there we will start our journey and walk through parts of the Park that have only been explored a few times by us and We LOVED IT !

I know you all been pretty good with getting there at least 10 minutes early.... So Please keep up the good work. Thanks ;~)

Please continue Reading... To The End... ;~)

From the parking lot, we will be walking on a beautiful long and winding trail.... It's pretty wide for almost the whole entire way. So that will be nice.... We will be walking along the outskirts of what used to be an old farm.... During the walk you'll see parts of working Tree Farms that are sure to catch your eye.....

We'll also be walking along  side parts of the Ramanessin Brook pictured here on the left, where you get a glimpse of Mother Nature at her best.... We may encounter some Deer so have your cameras ready... Last time we were here... I got A glimpse of a Hawk looking for it's prey... And Hoping that it wasn't me... It's always exciting when you are one with Nature, cause you never know what lies ahead.

For the most part, this trail is Flat with some slight inclines.... But I have to admit... You'll definitely get a workout after doing this walk... But don't worry... We will be taking breaks at certain points during this hike. So Yes... It's a little challenging like some of the other Parks we have done... And Very Exciting to say the least ! I'm sure your gonna love it as much as the last time if not more now that Summer is here...

This is a Wonderful Walk for all you Newbies to come and get acquainted with everyone...You'll see what a fun loving group we are, and also get a taste of some of the adventures we like to take... I promise... You won't be disappointed !

Sneakers may be worn on this Hike... But I would Highly Suggest wearing Hiking Shoes Or Hiking Boots for this one...

After the Walk/Hike.... For those of you who want Coffee or something to eat... I suggest we bring a Thermos cause they only have Soda in the vending machines... We can also bring a little snack to eat and or share with others if you want... Like some Fruit, Granola Bars, Brownies or even cookies... These are just an example to give you an idea... So... Bring what ever you want cause it's all good ;~)We can either hang inside at the Pavilion....Or maybe fine a nice spot outside with a table.... You might want to bring a folding chair and possible a blanket just in case...

As always... We will walk in a Lite Rain. Only Heavy Rain will cancel this... Those Signed up will be notified by E-mail and it will also be posted on this page.

So.... If In Doubt... Check It Out !

Thank you all again for coming 10 minutes early.... We will be leaving at 8:30am. Sharp...

This walk was the best yet
Getting lost in the forest reminded me of my people
getting lost in the desert for 40 years, thank you Rabbi Daryl.
I'm sorry that Brigid's brother got lost in the woods.
After four days the forest rangers had to call off the search party.
He'll always be in our hearts and I'm dedicating my next walk to him.
Seriously, the walk was so much fun and not to be missed
Daryl puts a lot of effect (except for map reading and directions) into making this group such a success. And if we're going to get lost I couldn't think of a better person to get lost with!
I would also like to thank those who brought fruit, cookies, nuts steaks, lobster tails (although we ran out of butter too soon) and other goodies for the end of the walk.
Those who left after the walk don't realize what you missed.
Sign me up again for next week and I promise to bring more butter.

Well maybe we should call the group the 40+ adventure group. What a fun and enjoyable day. We had a great walk, a little adventure, lost a few people and then found them. Then on top of all that we ate, fruit cookies scones nuts and great conversation. Hope everyone else enjoyed this walk as much as I did. Feeling energized after a shower and a little cat nap. See you all soon

    Hello Daryl,
I know that this is last minute and I'm sorry about it. I've been tossing and turning about attending. Could you please tell me how many miles you will be walking? I'm a beginner, beginner and think it might be too challenging for me. I also live about an hour away.
    Thank you,
    Alfonsina
