Cancelled: Training Bike Ride for Farmlands Flat Ride

Hi, Bikers!!!

It's (almost) getting warmer, and it's time to get pumped and build up our stamina for the Farmland Flat ride on May 3.

We will head north toward Pier Village along Ocean Avenue, ride a couple of miles past Pier Village, and turn back (those who wish to can omit the excess miles past Pier Village.) That will give us a total of almost 20 miles.

Please check your tires and make sure your bike is in good working order prior to the ride.

Helmets are required on this ride. Sorry to be tough about this, but no one without a helmet will be permitted to ride with the group.

The weather may still be -- ahem -- challenging. Ride is cancelled if the roads are snowy, icy, too wet, or if the temperature is under 40 degrees.

Ride Is Cancelled!!! Hi, Everyone....the Weather Channel has changed their forecast; at 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning it is expected to be freezing with wind, and it will feel like it is in the 20s. Plus, biking into the wind is not pleasant. So, let's save our energy for the next training ride which will be in two weeks (March 30) and hopefully it will be warm!!!!!

Sunday ride: I will keep an eye on the weather for Sunday. It's supposed to be cold (below freezing) in the morning. If the roads seem icy or if it appears to be too harsh, I will cancel this ride for today. I will post by 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, whether or not the ride is cancelled. In the meantime, please update your rsvp if necessary. Thanks!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
