Lake Chabot Walk in Castro Valley

The walk is about 4 miles and should take about an hour and a half. The northern side is a little more hilly than the southern side, but either is fine with me. We walk out then back on the same path no matter which way we go (the lake takes several hours to walk around). The path is mostly paved (there are some spots on the southern side that are just packed dirt).

After the walk we'll meet at Starbucks for coffee at 20663 Rustic Drive in Castro Valley (faces Castro Valley Blvd).

PARKING: $5 to park in the lot or free to park on the street and walk in (it's not very far to walk in from the street to the parking lot attendant).

RESTROOMS: Several locations

I haven't been there yet, where to look for a parking lot?

When heading East on I-580 take the 150th Street Exit in San Leandro go straight one block and left on Fairmont Drive, over the freeway. Fairmont Drive changes into Lake Chabot Road. The Park and Marina will be on the left. Most folks park on the Street as there is a fee for parking in the Lot.
