The Walk
Lafayette Reservoir is a little hilly; mostly shady and it has a beautiful view of the water most of the way around.  It is 2.7 miles and should take less than an hour. The trail is paved and there are plenty of restrooms.

Parking
Meters - should cost you about $2 quarters/credit card. Give yourself time to find a spot   Parking lot - $7.00 cash exact change for all day.   Street Parking - down the hill, and you have a 10min hike up the hill to get to the meeting spot.

Took advantage of the cool weather and went for a hike on Mt. Diablo this afternoon. Think I'll skip the reservoir.
