Walking across the dry lake bed in the early morning was absolutely beautiful. The expert commentary on the flora and fauna, the history and geology was fascinating. No sign of snakes! The Silver Wattle Quaker Centre holds the lease over that part of the lake, and is happy for people to walk across the leasehold if they phone the Centre and let them know who they are and when they will be walking.

Regrettably I am unable to attend this walk and judging from its description it would have been a most interesting and rewarding experience. The last time I walked in this area was over 20 years ago. Hopefully it will be on again another time in the future.

Thank you so much Maggi for your offer, but unfortunately something came up & I will not be to go on that day. Thanks again, Sarah

Hmm ... i'll give it some thought - nothing is very far away in CBR (compared to Melb!), but up to you and down to kingston seems a bit silly, seeing you & i could more easily go to the lake from the north side. Maybe you could get a taxi to the Nth Lyneham shops??? Let's see if anyone else closer to you puts their hand up during the week, then discuss it again on, say, Friday

Hey Sarah - Phil is no longer going, so I can collect you and we'll drive in from the north side ... say about 7.15 at or near your place?

Apologies Maggi, but I can no longer attend this - many thanks for offering to pick me up

I like to go but would like a lift. Any body willing to car share? I can meet you at your place and share the costs. Thanks, Sarah

What area do you live in, Sarah? I am collecting Phil in Kingston, but live in North Lyneham myself, so let me know where you are and I will work out whether I can collect you

Maggi, It would be great if you could pick me up - I live at 100/56 Printers Way and my phone is[masked] - what time would you want to pick me up?

I'm thinking 7.15 (aaagh) at the latest. It took me 30 mins just to get to bungendore from the nat.library a few weeks ago, so from your place I would estimate 45 to get through bung and down the lake road

Does someone want to car share - I live at Kingston and would like to do so

Does that mean you want to be picked up, or that you have a car? We can pick you up on the way through

Unfortunately I can not attend. I have prior commitments to walk along the Hume and Hovell walking track. Hopefully there will be enough people who will be interested in attending.
