Hike Las Trampas from Hemme

We will hike up to the Las Trampas Peak and back. Plan on about 6 - 7 miles of hiking in about 3 - 4 hours. Bring plenty of water. Poles if you have them. Wear hiking boots. Dogs off leash are allowed.  There is poison oak growing along these trails.  There are some steep sections.  It's a beautiful hike with great views.

We meet at the Las Trampas staging area at the end of Hemme Ave off of Danville Blvd in Alamo. From the staging area, we will take Ringtail Cat trail  along the creek and up to Madrone and then further up to Las Trampas Ridge to Las Trampas Peak (@ 1827 ft).

Car pooling is recommended as the staging area fits only 8 cars (there is street parking in the residential area...).

Great hike and Great Lunch. Kami & Lari, thanks for ordering the food. And Jeru, thanks for driving to the restaurant and back.

I am coming back to this trail when the weather is cooler. BTW, the first third of the hike was a butt kicker!!!

    Nice meeting everyone again.

I hike the Rim Trail often; love it! I'd like to meet other hiking enthusiasts and learn of other trails in the area.

I have never been here before. What is the staging area look like? Is there a bathroom, water fountain, and ample parking?

Judy are you going for some Dim Sum after the hike? Kami and I would like to carpool with you? Any room left in car?

I may need to go straight home after the hike so I will meet you at the staging area and let you know if I can join you for lunch. Thanks for planning lunch!

Kami, please put up the name, address, website, & number of the Dim Sum restaurant so everybody knows where to go afterwards.

About how many miles is this hike?

    August 26, 2013

  • Jujubees

This hike begins at the end of Hemme ave off of Danville Blvd in Alamo. The staging area is very tiny. Park only in marked parking spots and be careful not to block anyone in :-) There is street parking but be careful not to block the residential driveways.

So are we going to eat some dim sum with Kami in Fremont afterwards or shall we go for some inexpensive find dining like - Vietanmese Noodle soup in Walnut Creek? There is one called Kevin's Noodle House #6 in Walnut Creek off of N. Main.
