The brilliant and talented Fatoumata Diawara is performing at Millennium Park and we'll be picnicking on the lawn to watch her perform! Come join us with a blanket, fruit, cheese/crackers, wine, or just yourself. We'll be accompanying a big group including young professionals from World Chicago, Hostelling International and the Chicago Area Peace Corps Association. It should be a great time!
The show starts at 6:30pm so join us starting at 6!
The best part is, it's FREE!
Fatoumata Diawara was born of Malian parents in the Ivory Coast in 1982. Her music is a mix of jazz, pop, and funk, fused with her ancestral Wassoulou tradition. Telegraph calls her “the most beguiling talent to hit the world music scene in some time.”
How to find us: Download a map of the park here, which includes a red star where two WorldChicago volunteers will be stationed directing attendees to our space on the lawn. The space on the lawn will be marked with red and blue balloons as well. Please bring your own blankets and snacks! If you still can't find us, try calling Beth's cell phone:[masked]-1273.
