A Virtual East African Travel Experience

A Virtual East African Travel Experience: With presenter, explorer, change maker & traveler, Jamey Ponte shares experiences from travel to living in East Africa. A wonderful photography slide show of wildlife, landscapes and people. An open dialogue about his perception on quality of life from time in urban slums, small towns, villages and the bush in the Maasai Mara in Kenya. Great for the armchair or seasoned traveler or those planning their first African trip. He has hosted hundreds of volunteers with many organizations like TEDx, Jane Goodall Roots & Shoots Kenya, Child Wellness Fund, Kids in Kenya Fund, Lion Missions, Kibera Fruitful, JUMP Foundation, Network for Youth Advocacy Kenya, Kenya Kwetu, Lemek Conservancy. Meet with Jamey and be a part of the discussion on issues of safety, peace, health, food, youth, culture, wildlife conservation and more.

Fantastic photographs, amazing stories on the people and culture of Kenya, great advice on how to actually help Kenyans versus poisoning their culture and starting a chain reaction of unintended bad consequences, and--my favorite--a hilarious tale of speaking "monkey" only to tick off the troop leader and have him lead his whole troop of monkeys after Jamey in an angry mob. Great night.

Thank you Jamey for sharing your passion and insights on Kenya. I thoroughly enjoyed the conversational presentation, and the photographs were beautiful. I'll be reaching out to you to learn more about traveling there. Thank you to Simone for organizing.

This was my first meet in this group, I had a Great experience, the speaker was engaging, honest and very knowledgeable on Kenya. The best presentation on Kenya I have ever attended. I loved that the attendees stayed involved and asked great questions. I am looking forward to more Wanderlust on a Dime events

Funny pic on a destination on many peoples bucket lists. Who'd like to carpool from N of Cincy?
