Meeting and Presentation: "2013: The News in Review"

The Warren Astronomical Society meets monthly on the third Thursday in a room in the library (Building J) at Macomb Community College's South Campus. We are meeting in our normal school-year room, 221. Enter through the main front doors. We do a bit of club business early on, then have a major presentation usually put together by one of our members.

Ken Bertin “and friends”: Bob Berta, Bob Trembley, Chuck Dezelah, Angelo DiDonato, Dale Thieme, Jonathan Kade, Diane Hall and Dave Bailey will present "IN THE NEWS 2013", highlighting the 15 most important astronomy news stories of 2013 at our Macomb meeting on February 20th.

Ken has held various offices in the Warren Astronomical Society, including being president of it. He also frequently gives presentations on astronomy for schools and scouting groups. His many contributions to the Society were recently recognized by conferring a lifetime membership on him.

If you would like to present a short talk (5-15 minutes) or a long talk (40-60 minutes) at a future meeting, please email Dale Partin at [masked].

The views expressed in presentations are those of the speakers and do not necessarily represent, and should not be attributed to, the Warren Astronomical Society.

Many thanks to all the presenters for the interesting and varied topics they chose, as well as for the time it took to get ready for them and come out on such a nasty weather evening. Had a great time during the meeting and enjoyed the social post-meet as usual with some fine people.

So sorry I missed this. Anybody who saw what I did instead knows exactly how much I missed it :)

Learned some things to improve this presentation for next year. Went well, but I hate when any presentation with which I am involved goes over the time allotted.

Interesting presentations of the past year's news-worthy events. A few hiccups that were taken in-stride and Ken stepped up to fill in the gaps. With the constant rain coming down it was a good night to spend indoors.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
