OK, last Friday was a bust with the mud slides and the afternoon rains, so let's do this thing!!! We'll meet at the Park & Ride at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon (that's below Snowbird/Alta and NOT by the 7-11 at the mouth of Big). We'll car pool to Snowbird, regroup on the skier bridge on the tram plaza. Then, we'll hike up Peruvian Gulch and take the ridge route to the top of the Tram at Snowbird. This is about 2,900 vertical feet of climbing and will likely take 1.5-2 hrs to reach the top if we hike at a brisk pace. We have to reach the top before the last tram departs or it will be a long walk back down. I believe that the last tram down is at about 8:30, but I'll make sure. The ride down is free if you hike up.
This will be a fairly strenuous hike with the elevation gain and the altitude. Bring insect repellant, a light jacket because it will likely be cool at the top, water, snacks, and a headlamp just in case it ends up being a long walk down.
